Brooklyn Castle
Brooklyn Castle is a documentary concerning I.S. 318 -- a inner-city school at which more than 65 percent of students are from homes with incomes below the federal poverty level -- that also happens to get the best, most rewarding junior senior high school chess team in the nation. (In the event Albert Einstein, who was rated 1 800, would be to join the team, he'd only rank fifth best.) Chess has altered the school from a cited in 2003 as a"school in need of improvement" to a of nyc's best. But a collection of recession-driven community school budget cuts threaten to undermine people successes.
