Xavier: Renegade Angel
Xavier: Renegade Angel is an American computer-generated fantasy-comedy television series developed by John Lee, Vernon Chatman, Jim Tozzi, and Alyson Levy. Wonder Showzen was also created by Lee and Chatman. Cinematico animated the program, which was produced by PFFR. It debuted on Adult Swim at midnight on November4,2007, and on the Adult Swim website on November 1. Xavier contains a nonlinear, confusing plot that follows the funny ramblings of an itinerant humanoid pseudo-shaman and spiritual seeker named Xavier. The show is renowned for its extensive use of ideologically critical black comedy, surrealist and absurdist humor filtered through a psychedelic, New Age lens. The program is also typically graded TV-MA for its severe, graphic, and frequently bloody violence, as well as its strong sexual material, use of racially/ethnically inappropriate language, grotesque representations, and content deemed "too morbid and unintelligible for young viewers." Due to low ratings, Xavier: Renegade Angel aired for a total of twenty episodes between November4, 2007 and April16, 2009.
