Webster

Webster is an American situation comedy that aired on ABC from September 16, 1983 until May 8, 1987, and in first-run syndication until March 10, 1989 from September 21, 1987. The show was made by Stu Silver. The show stars Emmanuel Lewis in the title role being his socialite wife , played by Susan Clark, along with a new boy who is adopted by his NFL-pro god-father, portrayed by Alex Karras. The attention was largely on this impulsively couple had to adapt to their new lives and parenthood that is sudden, but it had been the congenial Webster himself who drove much of this plot. The show was produced by Georgian Bay Ltd., Emmanuel Lewis Entertainment Enterprises, Inc. and Paramount Television. Like NBC's earlier struck Diff'rent Strokes, a young African boy adopted by a white family was featured by Webster.
