The Virginian

The Virginian can be an American television series starring James Drury and Doug McClure, which aired from 1962 to 1971 for a total of 249 events on NBC. It was a spinoff from a 1958 summer series. Filmed in color, The Virginian became the earliest western series of television. Immensely successful, it ran for nine seasons--television's third longest western. It follows Bonanza at 430 episodes and two days, and also Gunsmoke at events and twenty seasons.
