The Untouchables
The Untouchables is an American crime drama that aired from 1959 to 1963 on ABC. Based on the same-named memoir by Eliot Ness and Oscar Fraley, it made up Ness's experiences as a Prohibition agent fighting crime in Chicago in the 1930s with the help of a special team of agents chosen for their bravery and incorruptibility and called the Untouchables. Later, the book was turned into a movie by Brian De Palma in1987, with a script written by David Mamet, and a less successful TV series in 1993. The Untouchables was a powerful, hard-hitting crime drama that won Robert Stack the Emmy Award for Best Actor in a Dramatic Series in 1960.
