The Andy Griffith Show

The Andy Griffith Show is an American sit com first televised on CBS between October 3, 1960 and April 1, 1968. Andy Griffith clarifies the Agency of Mayberry, North Carolina's literary little community. His life is somewhat complicated by an deputy, Barney Fife, a spinster aunt and housekeeper, Aunt Bee, and a young son, Opie. Local ne'er-do-wells, pals that are bumbling, and girl friends complicate his life. Andy Griffith stated in a Today Show interview, related to the time period of the series:"Well, though we said , and though it was taken at the'60s, it had an atmosphere of the'30s. It had been if we were doing so , of a time gone ." The series never placed and ended its ultimate season at number one. It's been ranked by TV Guide because the 9th-best series in television series. String Knotts and Bavier accumulated a combined total of six Emmy awards though Griffith nor the series won awards throughout its eight-season streak. The series, a semi-spin-off in an episode of The Danny Thomas Show titled"Danny Meets Andy Griffith", spawned its own spin-off collection, Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C., a sequel collection, Mayberry R.F.D., and a reunion telemovie, Return to Mayberry. The enduring popularity of the show has generated a good deal of merchandise. Reruns broadcast on TV Land, and also the series can be found on DVD. These seasons are now currently available by streaming video services such as Netflix.
