Takeshi's Castle

The Tokyo Broadcasting System broadcast the game program Takeshi's Castle between 1986 and 1990. It starred Japanese actor Takeshi Kitano as a count who owns a castle and poses challenging obstacles for players to overcome in order to reach him. The television program has become a worldwide cult classic. As part of TBS's 50th anniversary festivities, a live "revival" was televised on April2, 2005.
