Smash
Smash is an American musical drama television show created by playwright Theresa Rebeck and made by Robert Greenblatt to get NBC. Steven Spielberg served as one of the executive manufacturers. The show had been broadcast in America by NBC and created by Universal Television and DreamWorks Television. The show revolves around a fictional New York theater community and specifically the creation of a new Broadway musical. It features a large ensemble cast, directed by Debra Messing, Jack Davenport, Katharine McPhee, Christian Borle, Megan Hilty, Jeremy Jordan, and Anjelica Huston.
The series debuted on February 6, 2012, and its very first season ended on May 14, 2012. Its second and final season ended May 26, 2013 and premiered on February 5, 2013. NBC transferred the series into Saturdays starting and announced a change in March 2013 in their line up. The show had been cancelled on May 10, 2013. Final and second year senior producer/show runner Josh Safran explained as a series finale, if the string not be revived the ultimate episode of season two would behave.
The set the pilot episode, enjoyed some success. The season received the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Choreography one of 4 nominations. The collection was also nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series -- Musical or Comedy and also a Grammy Award for Best Song Written for Visual Media.
