Sledge Hammer! Is an American police sitcom made by New World Television that ran from 1986 to 1988 for 2 seasons on ABC. The series was made by Alan Spencer and celebrities David Rasche as Inspector Sledge Hammer, a preposterous caricature of the standard"cop on the border" character. Al Jean and Mike Reiss, famous for their work on The Simpsons, wrote for the show and functioned as editors.
