Samurai 7
Samurai 7 is a 2004 anime TV series produced by Gonzo that is based on Akira Kurosawa's highly respected 1954 film Seven Samurai. Toshifumi Takizawa directed the show, and Kaoru Wada and Eitetsu Hayashi created the music. There are 26 episodes, each of which costs roughly $32,500,000 to create. The series premiered as an exclusive high definition CS-PPV broadcast across Japan on the anime satellite television network Animax, and was afterwards aired by the network across its other relevant networks globally, including Southeast Asia, South Asia, Latin America, and other territories. For the North American release, Funimation Entertainment obtained the dubbing rights. It previously broadcast in the United States on the Independent Film Channel in April 2006, and in high definition on Dish Network's Animania HD channel. It has also been shown on specialty channel Razer in Canada and TVB Jade in Hong Kong. The series premiered on the Funimation Channel on September 6, 2010. It premiered on Adult Swim's resurrected Toonami block on August19,2012, and ran until February10, 2013.
