Punishment
Punishment is an Australian television soap opera made by the Reg Grundy Organisation for the Ten Network in 1981.
Set at a fictional men's prison, the series attempted to present a male form of the thriving soap Prisoner. Attempts by the makers to differentiate the series of the show watched Punishment. Nevertheless, the formula did not draw high viewing figures. Network Ten deemed and it had been quickly removed from the programs. Later that year, the remainder of these 26 episodes produced were displayed out-of-ratings. For a soap opera, the series had been recorded using the camera technique.
The routine throw featured many noteworthy Australian actors such as Brian Wenzel, Barry Crocker, Michael Preston, Ross Thompson, Anne Haddy, George Spartels, Cornelia Frances, Lisa Peers and Julie McGregor. Mel Gibson played a captive in the very first incident. Kris McQuade played Gibson's character's girl friend and was phased out of the series thanks to Gibson's death. The programme was produced and directed by Alan Coleman.
