Psi Factor: Chronicles of the Paranormal
Psi Factor: Chronicles of the Paranormal is a Canadian science fiction drama television series that broadcast 88 episodes over four seasons from 1996 to 2000. It was filmed in and around Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Although the show was a written drama, the appearance of Dan Aykroyd opening and closing each episode and underlining the validity of the organization it was inspired by caused some viewers to take it more seriously than intended. In1997, the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry, then known as the Committee for the Scientific Investigation of Claims of the Paranormal, bestowed the "Snuffed Candle" award on Aykroyd for "contributing to the public's lack of knowledge of scientific inquiry processes."
