Police Squad!

Police Squad! Is a tv comedy series first broadcast in 1982, developed by Jim Abrahams, David Zucker and Jerry Zucker, also starring Leslie Nielsen. A spoof of police procedurals featured Zucker, Abrahams and Zucker's word play usual sight gags and non sequiturs. While a parody of many shows and movies, it bore a resemblance to the Lee Marvin cop show, M Squad and also the 1960s show Felony Squad. Even though cancelled after just six episodes, the show spawned the successful Naked Gun film collection. Television Guide ranked it 7 to their own 2013 set of 60 shows that were"Cancelled too quickly".
