The Moon Embracing the Sun

Heo Yeon Woo, the daughter of a high-ranking official, travels to the royal palace with her mother to attend the congratulations event for her brother, Heo Yeom, who recently passed the civil service exams. Heo Yeon Woo is only thirteen years old. She meets Crown Prince Lee Hwon by complete and utter happenstance. They end up falling in love, and as a result, Yeon Woo is selected to be the Crown Princess of Joseon. Before they can get married, the Dowager Queen secretly orders her death in order to obtain greater authority for herself. This prevents them from getting married. Yeon Woo comes under the influence of a curse and is subsequently afflicted with disease. Everyone, even Crown Prince Lee Hwon, is under the impression that she has passed away. As a result of his damaged heart, he refuses to love anybody else. After an additional eight years, the young king comes into contact with a shaman named Wol. He can't help but notice that she is quite similar to Yeon Woo, so he starts looking into the circumstances behind Yeon Woo's passing.
