Martin is an American sitcom produced by HBO Independent Productions that aired for five seasons, to May 1, 1997 on Fox from August 27, 1992. The series is both branded later and celebrities actor-comedian Martin Lawrence Thomas Mikal Ford, Tichina Arnold, Carl Anthony Payne II, along with Tisha Campbell. Amid the popularity of the Fox system throughout the 1990s, Martin was one of the highest-rated shows of their network through the sitcom's five-season run. In contrast to this prevalence of NBC's"Must See TV" on Thursday nights in the 1990s, many African American and Latino audiences flocked to Fox's Thursday night Line up of both Martin, Living Single, and New York Undercover.
