Macross Plus

Four-part anime OVA and motion picture in the Macross series, Macross Plus. The first sequel to the original Macross television series that took place in the official timeframe was this one. Upon its initial release, Plus pioneered the use of computer-generated imagery in Japanese animation by fusing traditional cel animation with computer-generated images. Bandai Visual released the OVA series in Japan, while Manga Entertainment released the movie in North America and Europe. Manga Entertainment released the Australian VHS version and Madman Entertainment released the DVD version via a sub-license from Manga Entertainment. Several new mecha designs based on the original series are included.
