Knowing Me Knowing You with Alan Partridge
Knowing Me, Knowing You with Alan Partridge is a BBC Television series featuring six episodes and a Christmas special in 1995. It is called after the ABBA song "Knowing Me, Knowing You," which was utilized as the title music for the show. Alan Partridge, the inept yet self-satisfied Norwich-based host played by Steve Coogan. Alan was a character from the mock radio show On the Hour. Knowing Me, Knowing You was written by Coogan, Armando Iannucci, and Patrick Marber, with help from Doon Mackichan, Rebecca Front, and David Schneider, who played Alan's weekly guests. Steve Brown composed and arranged the music for the program, and he also played Glen Ponder, the man in command of the house band. The show was a parody of a talk show. It included a live audience, whose laughter ensured that viewers did not mistake the show for a genuine talk show. Alan went on to star in two series of the sitcom I'm Alan Partridge, which followed his life after his marriage and TV career ended.
