King Arthur's Disasters
The cartoon series King Arthur's Disasters hails from the United Kingdom and was initially broadcast on CITV, which is no longer an active programming block on ITV1. The series was created by Paul Parkes and Will Ashurst, and it follows and depicts King Arthur's and Merlin's efforts to woo the beautiful and self-obsessed Princess Guinevere. The series was co-created by Parkes and Ashurst. Because of how well received the show was, the producers decided to give it a second run, and on November6,2005, they started broadcasting it on CITV. Genevieve Dexter served in the capacity of Executive Producer for both. During the Spring 2005 season, the new CITV show with the highest ratings was King Arthur's Disasters. It routinely won its time slot versus CBBC and gained an audience share of more than 20 percent of children's television viewers. In2006, the show was up for a children's BAFTA but ultimately lost out to The Amazing Adrenalini Brothers for the award for Best Animation.
