Janus
Janus is an Australian drama television series screened to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation in 1994 and 1995. Two series are made, with a total of 26 events.
Janus was a spinoff series from the prior abc tv crime series Phoenix.
Loosely based on the true story of Melbourne's Pettingill family and the Walsh Street police shootings,'' Janus follows the bitterly-fought prosecutions of a notorious criminal family, the Hennesseys, from the views of the family, both the police and, specifically, the attorneys, prosecutors, barristers and judges associated with all elements of the narrative.
Four members of these infamous Hennessey clan are acquitted of the shooting of two young policemen in a bank heist, when the show begins. The town of Melbourne is shocked as Steve and brothers Mal, along side friend Ken Hardy and brotherinlaw Darren Mack, walk free.
Even the prosecutors, judges, magistrates and police -- lots of modelled on real life figures that were legal -- have been determined to place together the Hennessey members behind bars whenever they can. But flaws loopholes, corruption, and funds combine to create the quest much from straightforward that the group to jail.
