Takumi Fujiwara could be the son of an area tofu shop's owner. At night, Fujiwara gets in his souped up AE86 Sprinter Trueno (AE86 Corolla GT-APEX) and races on the seldom-used Japanese mountain roads. The Akagi Red Suns club challenges the Akina Speed Stars to a race over the mountain at which Fujiwara lives. One among the pioneers of the Red Suns, keisuke, races his Mazda rx 7 that is mythical - just to be conquered by the Fujiwara that is cryptic.
