Empty Nest
Empty-nest is an American sitcom that aired on NBC from 1988. Founder and manufacturer Susan Harris created as a spin-off of The Golden Girls the series. Because of its first few seasons, Empty Nest was one of the top most-watched programs of the year. It had been produced by Witt/Thomas/Harris Productions in association with Touchstone Television.
The series theory borrowed some elements from the comedy series Father, Dear Father incorporating a dad living together with both brothers and large dog. But unlike that series, the two daughters in Nest are adults, and also also the character is a widower.
Empty-nest was a portion of NBC's Saturday night block also throughout its first four seasons it aired at 9:30pm ET, directly after Golden Girls.
Two of those cast were alumni in one of Susan Harris' earlier shows, Soap. Mulligan was the Father in Law at Soap of Manoff.
