Thirty years ago a strange occurrence called a"spacequake" devastated the guts of Eurasia, claiming the lives of at least 150 million people. Since then, smaller spacequakes plague the world . Shido Itsuka, a seemingly ordinary high-schooler comes along with a mysterious girl at the bottom zero of a spacequake and learns she is one of those"Spirits" who are the true cause of the spacequakes that occur once they manifest themselves in the environment. He's recruited to use his ability to seal the Spirits' powers from being a hazard to mankind, hence stopping them. However, there is actually a catch: to seal Spirit's ability, he must make her love him and kiss him.
