Cosmos: A Personal Voyage
Carl Sagan presents the thirteen-part television series Cosmos: A Personal Voyage, which was created by Carl Sagan, Ann Druyan, and Steven Soter. Adrian Malone served as executive producer, David Kennard, Geoffrey Haines-Stiles, and Gregory Andorfer served as producer, while David Oyster, Richard Wells, Tom Weidlinger, and others served as directors. The course covers a vast array of scientific topics, including the genesis of life and our place in the cosmos. The series debuted on the Public Broadcasting Service in 1980 and, until The Civil War, was the most-watched series in the history of American public television. As of 2009, it was still the most popular PBS programme worldwide. It has since been broadcast in over 60 countries and viewed by over 500 million individuals. In addition, a book was created to accompany the series.
