Convoy
Convoy is a 13-episode American television series place during World War II which appeared for the 1965--1966 television season.
The series starred John Gavin as Commander Dan Talbot of this US Navy destroyer escort"DD181" and John Larch as civilian merchant Captain Ben Foster of the freight boat"Flagship", that were included with the convoy ships and their escorts which help to transport food, war and supplies materials across the Atlantic during the Battle of the Atlantic. The series also featured Linden Chiles as Steve Kirk and James T. Callahan, before ABC's Wendy and Me sitcom, at the role of Lieutenant O'Connell. Stars were Harold Gould, Jack Palance, Barbara Rush, James Doohan, Leslie Nielsen, Horst Ebersberg, Dennis Hopper, and Jeremy Slate.
Convoy was clearly one of the last NBC series in grayscale. Using stock footage left color impossible. As a result NBC affiliates refused to clear the app, which consequently failed to climb out of their'bottom 10' from the Nielsen ratings. This program premiered on September 17, 1965, and also the final episode aired on December 10.
