Bodyline
Dramatization of England and Australia's Test cricket series of 1932/33 in 1932/33 The series garnered prominence in Australian and worldwide cricketing history for the fact that the English team (headed by captain Douglas Jardine) used a bowling style known as "leg theory," or more generally, Bodyline. When the bowlers bowled directly towards the batsman's body, it caused multiple bruises and injuries among the Australian squad members, with batsman Bert Oldfield suffering a fractured skull as a result. Many Australians were enraged and bitterly disappointed by the series, which harmed relations between the English cricket team and their countrymen.
