Barrier Master

Yellow Tanabe is the author and illustrator of the eerie manga series Kekkaishi. From 2003 until2011, Shogakukan serialized it in the manga magazine Shnen Sunday, and Viz Media licensed it for an English-language distribution in North America. Sunrise turned it into a 52-episode anime series, which aired from October 2006 to February 2008. Yoshimori Sumimura and Tokine Yukimura, heirs of competing lines of kekkai users, must protect their school from the ghosts drawn to the hallowed soil on which it is founded. Kekkaishi won the 2007 Shogakukan Manga Award for shnen manga.
