Aladdin
Aladdin is an animated television series made by Walt Disney Television which aired from 1994 to 1995, founded on the 1992 feature. It had been animated in Penrose, Auckland, New Zealand at the Slightly Offbeat Productions Studios. Coming on the heels of the direct-to-video sequel The Return of Jafar, the series picked up at which installment left off, with Aladdin now living in the palace, engaged to Princess Jasmine. "Al" and Jasmine went together into peril among sorcerers, monsters, thieves, plus much more. Monkey side kick Abu, the animated magic-carpet, and the fast-talking Genie came along to helpas did complaining parrot Iago, once Jafar's pet but today an antihero. Jafar, with previously been destroyed in the picture, returns in just one episode which also acts as a cross over with Hercules: The Animated Series.
A number of the films' stars provided the voices of these television counterparts, with the exception of Dan Castellaneta filling set to Robin Williams in the Genie role. Unlike the tiny Mermaid spinoff series, this series does not include any music numbers.
The series aired on the The Disney Afternoon block and on Saturday mornings. Disney Channel re ran the show before it was replaced by their own preteen line up. The show was later exhibited on Toon Disney, but has ever since been removed.
