Aftershock: Earthquake in New York
CBS presented a four-hour disaster miniseries called Aftershock: Earthquake in New York on November 14 and November16,1999, with the first portion airing on November 14 and the second on November 16. VHS and DVD versions of the film were released in 2000 and 2001, respectively. It's based on Chuck Scarborough's book of the same name. The cast includes Charles S. Dutton, Sharon Lawrence, Tom Skerritt, Lisa Nicole Carson, Jennifer Garner, and Rachel Ticotin. After a major earthquake strikes New York City, the miniseries follows five groups of people, all directed by Mikael Salomon. Because of the film's spectacular effects, it was nominated for an Emmy Award. While the film's VFX and performances were lauded by critics, its plot, predictability, and lack of reality were roundly criticized.
