At nyc, racist Capt. Stanley White becomes obsessed with ruining a Chinese-American drug ring run from Joey Tai, an up-and-coming young gangster as tough as he could be ruthless. While pursuing an investigation, White grows increasingly willing to violate police routine, resorting to measures -- even as his wife, Connie, and his own superiors beg him to think about the results of his actions.
