In early 1960s London, barrister Melville Farr is on the trail to success. With his clinic winning cases and also a union Farr's career and life are nearly idyllic. But when blackmailers connect Farr to some gay person, every thing Farr has worked for is threatened. As it happens, Farr can be really actually a homosexual -- which is debatable, due to the anti-sodomy legislation of Britain. But rather than committing, Farr makes the decision to fight.
