Toni

In the 1920s, the Provence attracts immigrants looking for work in the quarries or agriculture. Many mingle with the locals and make permanent arrangements, such as Toni, an Italian who has moved in with Marie, a Frenchwoman. Toni becomes entangled in a web of increasingly passionate relationships, despite her well-ordered existence, which is not immune to boredom, friendship, love, or enmity. For there is Fernand, his best friend, but also Albert, his overbearing foreman; Sebastian, a steady Spanish peasant, but also Gabi, his young rogue relative; Marie, but also Josefa.
