The Taming of the Shrew

Baptista, a rich Paduan retailer, announces his fair young daughter, Bianca, will stay unwed before her older sister, Katharina, a hellish shrew, has wed.. Lucentio, a student and also a Pisan merchant's son, has fallen in love with Bianca. He poses as a mentor of music and poetry to be close Bianca also to gain entrance. Meanwhile, Petruchio arrives in Padua, expecting to catch a wife. Yet another suitor of Bianca, hortensio, directs Petruchio's attention. When Hortensio warns him concerning the scolding tongue and fiery temper of Katharina, Petruchio is contested and resolves to catch her love. As he pursues Katharina, the other suitor of Bianca, Gremio and hortensio, accept cover Petruchio's costs.
