The Spirit of the Beehive

In the wake of the Spanish Civil War, Ana, a sensitive seven-year-old girl in a gigantic Spanish hamlet is traumatized after having a traveling projectionist displays a print of James Whale's 1931"Frankenstein" for the village. The kid is disturbed by the scenes where the girl is murdered by the monster and it is murdered himself by the villagers. She thinks when she tells her that the monster isn't dead, but is as a soul occupying a barn, her older sibling and questions her sister. Ana crosses from reality when a priest out of Franco army, a Loyalist soldier, hides out in the barn.
