The Rape of Recy Taylor
Recy Taylor, a 24-year-old black mother and sharecropper, was gang raped by 6 white young boys in 1944 Alabama. Usual in Jim Crow South, few females spoke up in concern for their lives. Not Recy Taylor, that fearlessly identified her rapists. The NAACP sent its chief rape detective Rosa Parks, who rallied support as well as triggered an extraordinary uproar for justice. The film reveals a heritage of physical abuse of black ladies and also exposes Rosa Parks' intimate role in Recy Taylor's story.
