The Raffle

Francesca, a stunningly beautiful woman, discovers her husband's unfaithfulness and the massive amount of debts he left behind after his death. Cesare is Francesca's best friend and a solicitor. Following his advice, Francesca begins selling all of her possessions, including the house, jewels, furs, and, eventually, the yacht. She is able to survive for the rest of the year by doing so, but she has no prospects for the future and every attempt to find work fails. Finally, she decides to hold a lottery with her as the prize.
