The Purple Plain

Forrester becomes a solitary killing machine after losing his bride in a Luftwaffe air strike. He doesn't care if he dies. While serving in Burma during World War II, the daredevil Canadian pilot is both admired and feared by the rest of his squadron. The squadron physician is tasked with determining whether or not Bill Forrester is fit for duty after his recent demotion. The doctor drives Forrester to an English-speaking refugee camp, which features an appealing young Burmese woman.
