The Painter and the Thief

When two of artist Barbora Kysilkova's most valuable paintings are stolen from an Oslo gallery at Frogner, the thief is apprehended after a few days, but the paintings are nowhere to be found. Barbora attends the trial in the hopes of gaining information, but instead ends up asking the thief if she can paint a portrait of him. This will be the beginning of an unusual friendship. Over the course of three years, the cinematic documentary follows the incredible story of an artist searching for her stolen paintings while also turning the thief into art.
