The Olive Tree

Alma's family has been producing quality olive oil in the Baix Maestrat area of Spain's Castellón for decades. Yet changing pressures in the business have made their own conventional methods untenable, and the family is currently in the mass-production poultry enterprise. The grandfather of alma has not spoken in years. Sadness envelopes himand he no longer wants to eat. His sons -- the father and uncle of Alma -- are somewhat impatient with him but her grandfather is understood by Alma. She realizes he sold to cover a few debts and has been occupying for a thousand-year-old olive-tree that the household has uprooted. (A sadly prevalent reality in Castellón today ) Unable to bear the thought without visiting with this dreadful corrected that her grandfather may expire, Alma undertakes a mission to find the shrub therefore her grandfather may have peace in his last days, and return into the household orchard.
