The Forgiving
Five years after the sad murder of his eight-year-old daughter, Avi Brickman is still reeling from the loss of his wife and two young children. When he is unexpectedly dismissed from his work, which served as a tenuous lifeline to his broken existence, he makes the decision to commit suicide in the very house where the disaster occurred. Upon arriving at the secluded house in the woods, he discovers a mother and her small daughter who have taken refuge in the structure. During a long night, in his confused state of mind, he is visited by the ghosts of his past, forcing him to confront his shame and suffering, leading to a cathartic and unexpected conclusion to his journey.
