The Choice of Hercules

Officer Atsuyuki Sassa was put in charge of defusing the situation when radicals from Japan's Red Army kidnapped a woman in the Nagano resort town of Karuizawa in 1972. However, there were some difficulties with the task. When Sassa arrived in mountainous Nagano, she had to contend with freezing winter temperatures, conflicting opinions between the Tokyo Metropolitan Police and the Nagano Prefectural Police, and public opinion in order to gain entry to the lodge that held the single woman captive.
