The Aerial

The inhabitants of a city without a name in the year XX have lost their voices. People converse by pronouncing words spelled in mid-air. The only person who has retained the use of her voice is La Voz ("the voice"), a singer employed by the only television station in the city, which is owned by Mr. TV, who desires La Voz. La Voz covers her face with a hood worn over her head. She has a son named Tomás, a blind child who nevertheless has a voice (although this is kept a secret). Tomás befriends Ana after a letter intended for him is mistakenly delivered to her residence.
