Tell Spring Not to Come This Year

When NATO soldiers departed Afghanistan, the Afghan National Army (ANA) seized control of Helmand Province, a perilous territory rife with Taliban attacks. Security, much less peace, would appear to be unattainable; finding a common language is much more difficult in a country where everyone distrusts everyone else. The filmmakers joined an ANA company on frontline duty in Helmand for a year. Soldiers are paid inconsistently, supplies are few, and their equipment is inadequate. They are incapable of fighting a war using the ISAF-supplied equipment.
