Sweeney Killing Sweeney

Sweeney, the "Character King," an aging local standup comic, is given the opportunity to do a national cable show out of Los Angeles. The only stipulation is that Sweeney remove all locally referenced material from his act, the most important of which is the portrayal of his colorful Boston "characters," which have become a staple of his home field success. Sweeney makes the difficult decision to stop portraying the characters. To his dismay, the characters "come to life" and seek vengeance; they attempt to murder Sweeney.
