Madison finds herself bound to a lifetime of fear, after almost drowning in a river. Unable to describe what happened throughout the seconds she had been underwater, she begins to develop hydrophobia: an unnatural fear of water. Madison attempts to shut out the world but her fear awakens and she's faced with the fantasy of a figure which haunts her day and night. After watching her struggle for one year with visions and the phobia, Madison's four friends attempt an unconventional intervention in which they accidentally open a flood gate to a place where none are safe. As Madison and her friends dive to the background of this figure which haunts them it reaches out and starts exposing them to a place that is horrifying that they could never return out of.
