Oscar and Lucinda

In the wake of his father's abuse as a youngster, misfit Oscar Hopkins grows up to become an Anglican preacher and falls prey to a devilish addiction to gambling. Australian heiress Lucinda Leplastrier is in London buying supplies for her newly acquired factory back home. Oscar and Lucinda get infatuated with one other after meeting on a missionary ship to Australia. In a wager that will change their lives forever, they make a wager.
