Operation Leopard
In May1978, a gang of communist guerillas from adjacent Angola attacked the mining town of Kolwezi in Katanga, Zaire (now Democratic Republic of Congo, the former Belgian Congo). Belgian mining company workers and local residents are held hostage by the invaders, who begin a bloodbath by shooting both Africans and Europeans. It was decided that a Regiment of Paratroopers from the Foreign Legion would be sent in a counter-attack. Among those featured in the film are former non-commissioned officer Delbart, who was preparing for his return to France with his African wife and child, Delbart's successor Damrémont, Zairian doctor Bia and married to a Belgian engineer Annie as well as Non-com Legion officer Federico and the French Ambassador and Military Attaché.
