Only Yesterday
Taeko is 27 yrs of age, unmarried, and it's 1982, and has lived her existence. She decides to go to her family at the countryside, and as the train travels through the nighttime, memories flooding back of her years: the immature stirrings of romance, the beginning of puberty, and the frustrations of math and boys. At the channel she's met by young man Toshio, as well as the adventures along with him begin to reconnect her to forgotten longings. In lyrical switches between the history and the current, Taeko wonders when she was true to the dreams of her youth self, and contemplates the arc of her life.
