My Life So Far

A memoir about the lives of a family growing up on a post-World War I British estate led by a strict disciplinarian, her daughter, her inventor husband, their ten-year-old son, and his older sister. A number of suitors, including an aviator, come through the household hoping to impress the young woman. Everything comes to a halt when the elder woman's son arrives at the estate with his French fiancée. The young boy develops an unexpected interest in her sexual allure, and his father is troubled by his own non-Victorian feelings.
