Phaen is a young man from the suburbs who adores music. At his village's temple fairs, he never misses an opportunity to show off his singing. He meets and falls in love with Sadao at one of the fairs he attends. Phaen presents Sadao with a transistor radio on their wedding day, which the new family adores and which also inspires Phaen to fantasize about being a renowned singer.
