Love Cuts
Cecilia, who is in her forties and goes by the nickname Sissy among her circle of acquaintances, is an upbeat and energetic seamstress. Her husband of many years, Wai Mun, is the head chef at a highly regarded Chinese restaurant. In spite of the fact that he has felt a growing sense of dissatisfaction with his life ever since relocating from Hong Kong to Singapore, he and Sissy are a doting pair who have a happy marriage. They have a son who is 15 years old and a daughter who is nine years old. The nine-year-old daughter has a very strong relationship with Sissy and is a great source of cheer and comfort for her. Their lives, on the surface, appear to be unremarkable and routine, but then all of a sudden, an unforeseen event takes place. Sissy notices that she has a lump in her left breast one day. The lump is firm. She is swept away by a deluge of complicated feelings.
